Exploring, and Thinking

"I don't know that." Dmitri replied. "But they're planning something--I've heard Mum and Dad talking about it when they didn't think I was listening. I know some things, but...I need to warn people, but if I do, they'll come after me. And if it isn't my parents, it'll be someone else doing it. They kill without blinking, and they don't care who they kill."

Ginny nods. She could imagine the DE over Hogwarts, attacking. Or some where were innocent people where. She blinked a few times before she could see she was still at Hogwarts and not in her imagination. SHe looked at the lake, thinking about the information Dmitri had given her.

"The Headmaster will need to be told...and there might be some students here who are sympathetic to the Dark Lord's cause if they aren't tangled up in it completely already. Be careful who you trust, Ginny. Not all students are what they seem to be."

Ginny nods. She hadn't met many people. "Students or Professors." She added. Potions could be seen as a dark art, so she thought she should be careful with that.

Dmitri gazed at her. "Both, yes. I don't mean you should go around being paranoid; all I'm saying is to be careful with who you trust. I don't want to see you get hurt or pulled into something you don't want to be pulled into."

Ginny nods, and stares at the Lake again. It was very warm, and she needed to rest her mind from all this DE talk, and school. "I understand." She said. "Want to go for a swim?" She asked. She wanted to see if she could spot the squid, hopefully in a good mood.

Dmitri smiled. "I'll pass for now. I'll stick my toes in the water, though." he added, taking his shoes and socks off and sticking his feet into the water. "Yikes...cold! Are you sure you want to swim?"

Ginny dipped her toes in. It was cold. "That's why we have our wands." She said. She charmed the lake to become warmer. She dipped her toes in. "Much better." She muttered. She grabbed her bag and but her notebook and quill inside. Then she took of her sweater, revealing a blue swimsuit. She quietly slipped in, wondering if she would meet the squid.

Dmitri turned away as she took off her sweater, slightly embarrassed. A face ran through his mind...a face he'd wanted to get to know, but knew perfectly well he shouldn't, considering the circumstances going on. He turned back and watched Ginny begin swimming, his brow creased. For the first time in his life, he had conflicting feelings when it came to girls. He'd no idea what he was supposed to do about it.

Ginny dove under the water, and hesitantly opened her eyes. She saw the squid, and went up for water. She noticed that Dmitri had his brow creased, as if he was thinking really hard. "What's wrong Dmitri?" She asked, curious to why he looked that way.

"It's stupid, really...there's this girl I like, but unfortunately she likes someone else." Dmitri replied, sighing. "And then there's something else...I think this is the first time I've ever been in this sort of situation. It's crazy. I hope I'm not boring you with all of this."

Ginny shook her head. "It isn't boring." She said.

"I don't know if you know her, but her name is Elisabetta. She's a Slytherin, but she's rather cute. Unfortunately, she's gone ga-ga over this greaseball named Severus. It's ridiculous. She has no chance with him, but she either doesn't understand it or she doesn't want to understand it. I've no idea what to do."

Ginny nodded. "I don't know her, but I have heard of Severus." She said. "He is the guy that likes Potion alot, right?" She asked.

"He's a bloody Potions genius." replied Dmitri. "I think the only reason people talk to him is to get him to help them with their homework. Bit sad, really...I don't think he minds too much, though. Anyway, yeah...there's no chance between Betta and him. I wish I had a way of telling her that, but I'm too shy to do it."

Ginny nods. It was kinda sad that people only spoke to Severus because of Potion Homework. "You should just speak up." She said. Then she smiled, "Or I'll do it for you." She joked.

Dmitri smiled warmly, then sighed again. "She's also a bit titchy when it comes to first-years, so you'd have to make sure you catch her on a good day. Or I could just muster up the courage, like you said."

Ginny smiled. "No worries. Where does she usually hangout?" She asked. She nods.

"It depends." Dmitri replied. "She might be in the library...or in her common room...a lot of times I see her out here on the grounds. Just listen for the girl who yells at younger students--that's more than likely her."

Ginny nods. She knew she'd be unable to try the Slytherin common room, but she could try the library or the grounds. She looked at all the students near the lake, from the farthest corner, she thought she saw someone yelling at 1st years. She wasn't sure as it was quite far away. Ginny looked at Dmitri. "Is that her?" She asked, pointing to a student who was yelling at other students.
